Makeup Routine on the Train

A few weeks ago I started doing my makeup on the train. At first, I was quite self-conscious particularly when I use an eyelash curler as it seems like a medieval torture device. But I got over that initial anxiety eventually. I'd rather sleep an extra 15 minutes but still look semi-presentable at work than worry what  strangers/passengers think of me.

I have a short train ride to work so I can't do much and I find that the less products I use, the less chance I'd make a horrible mistake. Plus, I don't like lugging a ton of products in my bag. I do apply a moisturiser with SPF15 before I leave the house or if I have a few spare minutes I might apply a bit of foundation.

Here's the bare minimum of products that I use in the order in which I apply them. I do swap products now and again to keep it interesting.

  • Clinique Almost Powder Makeup in 05 Medium
  • Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
  • Face of Australia Impact-Curl Mascara in Black
  • Shiseido The Makeup Multi-Shade Enhancer in Terra-Cotta Glow
  • Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 35 Candy Apple

I'd like to throw in some cream eyeshadow into the routine, but I usually can't bothered. If I get some downtime at work, I pop into the bathroom with my Too Faced Glamour To Go Dream Edition palette which I keep at work for a wash of the taupey shade on my lids.

  1. I use to do my makeup on the station platform in the mornings I did not care too much, as it saved me time and I needed to get on the train at certain times. I now live in the country so no more trains for me.

    1. Thanks! As long as we're not spilling makeup on the passenger next to us, I think it's fine. No more irritating than what other people do on the train. Though I look forward to the day I live in the country and would have no need to do my makeup on the train :)
