Sew again? Probably in a nicer fabric.
Recommended? Yes, it’s a nice, comfy dress.
Sizing and alterations: I cut the smallest size, chopped 4 inches of the hem and raised the pockets. Should have made a narrow back adjustment. Oh well.
Instructions: It was quite easy to follow.
Preparation: I can’t remember if I pre-washed the fabric, so I didn’t try to make it too fitted in case it shrank. I like my clothes a bit loose anyway as that makes them more comfortable for a job that involves sitting down the whole day – I need room for my non-pregnant tummy to relax in J
Construction: Not as difficult as I imagined. I may even be getting the hang of these princess seams. But I seemed to have forgotten how to sew invisible zippers and I was too lazy to look it up. So I did a regular centre zipper.
Conclusion: It doesn’t have the best looking zip, but I’m not too fussed by it. I like wearing it. But the cotton has a quilting weight feel to it (even though I bought it from the garment section), which makes it drape oddly and the centre front pleats make it look like I’m wearing shorts.
And here's a couple of not-headless photos. Gotta start feeling comfortable about showing my face now that I'm breaking into the beauty blogging world. :)
