Sephora Mini Shopping Bag Palette Review

I've been using the Sephora Mini Shopping Bag palette for three days now, and I must say I am quite impressed.

The packaging is practical and nifty with the magnetic closure. It is very compact for a palette with 9 eyeshadows, 1 blush and 4 lip glosses. It's also great that the lip glosses are separate from the powder products so there's no chance of getting the lip glosses muddy.

The selection of eyeshadows is amazing. There's enough variety to take me from day to night, from neutral to bright, from matte to shimmery and glittery. The eyeshadows are very pigmented particularly my favourites: the silvery grey and the taupe shades in the middle row. The mattes apply a bit chalky without primer, and there is some fallout but not much more than other eyeshadows. I forgot to use primer the first time I used this, and after a few hours there was some creasing on my right lid, but my left lid still looked pretty good. When I wore this with UDPP, it lasted over 10 hours (just had to wash it off before going to bed) without creasing and with just a bit of fading.

The pale pink blush surprisingly works well for my medium skin tone. I thought it would not show up or would appear too washed out. I'm not sure if it's just my foundation (Invisible Zinc Tinted Moisturiser) or the oils on my face, but it shows up as a slightly warmer pink on my skin.

The lip glosses are as expected, they're not very pigmented. But they're good enough for quickly enhancing lips with a bit of colour and/or shine. Not too sticky and not drying at all. They're also relatively scent-free so they don't make my coffee/water smell/taste funny.

Overall, this palette is $20 well-spent (bought it in Malaysia for 65 ringgit, but it's only $15 in the US). It is now a staple in my work makeup bag as it's great for both work and after work events. I may not leave home with a full face on, but putting a bit of makeup on alleviates work-related stress for me :)

Here's a few of my attempts at capturing the eyeshadow at 8 hours of wear (it honestly looked much richer in real life):

From my quick google search, it seems like there are three other variations to this palette which have different selections of colours.
