It's almost two inches too big. Not that I slimmed down or anything, it's just that it's been months since I made muslin 1.0 and I've forgotten all the adjustments I need to make for version 2.0. I'd ran out of muslin so I used the gingham that was earmarked for a fitting shell that I never made. It's not the best fabric for a muslin as it has a bit of stretch. I'll have to use muslin fabric for version 3.0.
I need to start making a shopping list for the wedding dress, and Spanx is on top of that list.
I spent a lot of time thinking about the construction and decided I need an inner corselet to hold the dress up because I don't want to put undue strain on the lace shoulder straps.
I'm currently making a muslin for the inner corselet, but I only have rigilene and plastic boning on hand.
I'm thinking I'll try the rigilene for now, and order spiral steel boning later. I tried both and the rigilene looks quite flat and was comfortable enough to wear. I am definitely not using the plastic boning as it's too thick and wasn't as smooth as rigelene.
Everyone's been raving about Kate Middleton's dress. But I'm not going to complicate my dress with sleeves. I'm not that skilled to sew sleeves, let alone lace sleeves. I repeat. I will not attach sleeves to my dress.
