I, Jos of SewJosa, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-March '11. I endeavour to wear
at least one piece of handmade or refashioned clothing each day for the duration of March 2011.
I'm a bit scared of this challenge. I have enough handmade work clothes if I do laundry each week, but not enough lounge wear aka pambahay in Tagalog. Also, I am not very good at styling my clothes, so it will probably get repetitive with my handmade dress and cardigan combo. I guess that'll be the challenge for me.
On the quilting front, I ran out of fabric for my first quilt and but the shade I wanted wasn't available so I had to settle for something else.
And that thread is silk thread for basting the yet-to-be-bought wedding fabric. See, I have not completely forgotten about the wedding dress. It's just at the back burner at moment cos I really want to finish the quilt now that autumn is almost here in Sydney.
The quilt is taking much longer than expected. I changed my block layout from this
The quilt is further delayed by having to unpick an afternoon's worth of stitching along the patchwork as the back side was too uneven. Of course, unpicking my quilting stitches was an entire evenings work
Now that I've taken on the Me-Made-March challenge, I'm not sure I can finish the quilt anytime soon. I have to sew/refashion clothes if I don't want to run out of things to wear!
